Wifi Extender & Google home not same network issues

Hi, first time poster here, I have a TP link homeplug wifi extender set up in part of my house where the wifi is poor. I have two Google home devices, and for music you can set them up to be a "group". However they don't always appear to be on the same network, they are definitely online & can do everything as normal. However as a group they aren't recognised as being on the same network. One is on my main Sky hub, the other "off" of the TP link extender. I have given the extender the same SSID & password as the hub. Is this resolvable ?

Cheers

Hi, I've connected to the powerline using their utility option, crawled through the settings & can't see anywhere guest mode.

Where would that option be?

I don't think I would of done that.

It is all going to depend how much diagnostics these devices have. First would be to check the ip addresses to be sure they are in the same ip network/subnet.

If they have the ability see if you can ping between the 2 devices.

The only thing I can think of that would prevent 2 devices from seeing each other when they are on the same network is a feature wifi has called wireless isolation. Some routers have this option on by default. When a repeater is involved I don't know how this feature functions.

Thanks fo
I'm not sure I'd now how to ping the devices if I'm honest.

In terms of "isolation", it does have this;
Enable AP Isolation - Isolate all connected wireless stations so that wireless stations cannot access each other through WLAN

But the box isn't ticked.

I did ask Google, they weren't particularly helpful & basically said if yr using a wifi extender or similar it wasn't something they really recommended.
