Speedtests 100 down, 10 up (as it's supposed to be) but I'm still lagging a lot

Hey,

I've got a weird problem going on with my current internet.

It's supposed to be capped at 100 down and 10 up which I receive on a regular base but when I'm on Discord (similar to Skype) I start lagging. Interactions in a Game Client (League of Legends) make my internet lag as well (my voice starts to sound robotic for my mates and I don't hear them anymore - at least not properly).

Basically, it doesn't seem to be the internet (as the speedtests are fine) but the game itself shouldn't be the problem (nor Discord).

Any idea what's possibly wrong?

It's on Windows 10 Pro (the computer itself is a good one).

I've already tried resetting everything but the problem isn't solved yet.

I thought about changing the network cable (the current one is 7,5m long).

Thanks for helping me out!

Best,
DD

Look in Task Manager to look at what is listed in Startup - any strange applications or tools/utilities perhaps. Something you do not know about or recognize.

Get Avast reinstalled. Update and run for good measure. If there is a problem that may indicatesome remaining malware..

Use Task Manager to look at what is running in the background.

If as suggested, the code may sloppy and might be showing itself in some manner. Just do not start randomly stopping and/or deleting things. Google to investigate and identify.

Think about the websites you have visited and any downloads just before the problem started. If you can identify the source then you can avoid accordingly.

Thank you for replying!
That was actually pretty fast.

Do you really think that the CPU is too weak? I did some ping tests from another thread and everything seems to be fine (1ms to my router, 12ms to my ISP and 18ms to Google).
I'll check the CPU and the background activity but is there anything else I should keep in mind?

The game itself doesn't need a lot of ressources (as far as I know) but I noticed that my Avast uninstalled itself (?). Is that even possible?

Jesus, I just installed Malwarebytes and ran a scan. It found five threats:
PUM.Optional.DisabledSecurityCenter
Trojan.BitCoinMiner

I think it could be because of that! What's your opinion on that?
