Hello my name is Rodney and I am a college student majoring in animation and CG. Anyways right now I'm rocking with a core i5 4690k, 16gb of ram, and a GTX 970. The system can handle games and light blender work but it's age is starting to catch up with it since I built it in my sophomore year of high school. Since I'm in college my budget is a little stretched. What I'm trying to figure out is, would a new 8th core i3 with a 1060 be any faster than my current system, or would it only be worth it to go for a 8th gen core i5 and a 1070?
