Hey guys,

So, I'm thinking of upgrading my pc, to play games on the standard 1920x1080 resolution. Which should, according to you guys, perform better (aka bottlenecks less) with the following specs:

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS - Z970 Pro Gaming Aura
RAM: 16gb DDR3
PSU: Corsair 750 Watt
Boot drive: SAMSUNG EVO 850 (500GB)
CURRENT GPU: ASUS 970 Turbo
CPU: AMD fx-8320 (Octa-Core, 3.7ghz no overclock)
NEW GPU:
- GTX 1080
- GTX 1080 ti

Just tell me, which should perform better? I'm not yet going to upgrade my CPU (sorry).

Also, I'm not playing the very latest TRIPLE A titles, usually some 2016 and 2017 era games.

Solution
Any GPU above the performance of a GTX 1060 or RX 580 will be bottlenecked by the fx-8320.
You will get better performance with a newer CPU but you will still get playable frame rates @ 1920x1080 resolution with the fx-8320
I might go with GTX 1070 or GTX 1070 Ti
