I just bought a 1080 ti,to go with my i7 6700(non k)

I noticed while playing bf1 at 1080p ultra my cpu never worked harder in its lifetime,i have a stock cooler and it hit 85C,i still get alright fps,90-120,but i feel like it could be better

Is a slightly better cooler than the stock one the solution.

Also is cpu usage supposed to be 100% while gaming?

Solution
If your hitting 100% usage your at a CPU bottleneck. Sadly BF1 tears through CPUs, especially in large multiplayer maps. Bringing your temps down will be healthy for your CPU but likely won't give you any more FPS as your at your CPU's FPS limit now.
