Switching from 1070 to 1070: uninstall drivers?

Hi experts,

my Palit Gamerock GTX 1070 is toast. I will switch to a MSI Aero GTX 1070.

Since the architecture and the chipset remains the same:

Do i need to uninstall graphics drivers via DDU before installing the new card?

I know that it is recommended if you're switching between AMD/Nvidia or to a different architecture - but if one stays in the same category?

And furthermore: If there are certain issues - isnt it possible to perform the clean driver install via DDU *after* you installed the new card an ran into the issues?

Kind regards
David

Should be fine if the actual GPU is the same. The Palit driver downloads just redirect you to Nvidia server anyway, so MSI probably do the same.

And yes, you can run DDU at any time if you find that you need to clear out existing driver for some reason.
