[SOLVED] Cooling my Computer using an external fan

I have opened one side of my computer and have been using an external fan blowing air onto the open side (fan is not at full blast) [I keep one side panel off] of the computer. I have been doing this for a while now and notice that the hard drive is running very cool. Is this a good solution if I am in a position to have such a setup.

list all part in system with case name and model also how many fans you have in and the way they are for air in and out .

I have Dell Inspirion 3847. There is a fan on the CPU and one at the back to exhaust I assume.

i did check it you could also have one in the front panel for air intake see if you could fin 120 mm fans with a high cgm you might have to take slim fans .for both front and back .
