Hey everyone, I've download smite after over an year of hiatus and I was stuck at "waiting for data" for over an hour.

I raised a ticket and they responded by providing a few solutions, one of which was to connect the laptop through a Lan cable. So I pulled the main Lan cable from the router and connected it to the laptop and viola, it worked.

I am still unable to get it working over WiFi, could someone help me out with this??

Thank you

I had this issue with smite for ages. I ended up giving up and returning to the game after like 3 months and it fixed its self. I think its just Hi-Rez releasing a patch and breaking the game. Check if you can download other games.

make sure with wifi your not using a locked ip and dns settings. they should be set to auto. check to see what port the game is using see if that port is open or closed on wifi. check to see on your router if your using a non standard channel and or speed. make sure the router firmware is up to date.

I have tried Aion, and it downloads well and plays well. Another thing that I've noticed is that when connected to WiFi, the Steam Player Chat does not log in, but when on LAN it connects instantaneously.

Under my router settings, I was not able to find dns settings, but I found DDNS, is that the same thing??
I dont know how to check which port the game is using.
My router has a setting called Port Triggering, it is currently disabled.

My router model number is DIR-600M, I tried to find a guide for this to no avail. Could you please walk me through the process??

Ok, be careful when messing around with router settings. You mess something up chances are I won't be able to help you. Now before doing anything more with your router, you told me that when you downloaded and ran another game it worked fine. That's good, means its not your pc or your router's fault. As for your steam chat thing that sounds like a steam software issue. And of course, it would work over LAN. Lan does not require the use of internet but rather just uses your local area network. Same goes for the chat. Now to fix steam chat have you tried restarting steam completely? Go your taskbar and click the arrow that shows hidden programs and right click steam and press exit. Would not also hurt to just go into task manager and further shut down any further steam related prosses. Ok now restarted steam as Admin by right-clicking steam and pressing start as administrator. steam will say this may cause problems in a window. Just press ok to this. This will allow any updates to go through if they have not already. Now for this DNS thing, you are talking about. First of all, I strongly recommend you don't change anything in this Think about it, if you have played smite before then why would it suddenly want to block it...Instead think of things that could block it. Antivirus, VPN's, and peer blockers. Make sure you disable all of these and then try your game. Also DDNS just means you have a dynamic IP meaning it changes which is normal so don't touch it.

I have not played smite on this isp previously. I have on other networks, but this is the first time for this network/laptop combination. I have attached screenshots of the router settings and steam chat (after shutting down completely and running as admin).
