So I currently own a Dell inspiron 15 7000 that I purchased in august of 2017. I currently have a problem with the Intel wireless ac-3165 network adapter. Every once in a while the network adapter chooses not to show up on device manager. Also instead of a wireless antenna icon on the bottom right. I see a local area connection icon with a red x on it. Its really frustrating and I've already installed new drivers from Intel several times already.

do you only notice this when in the tray icon or did you check device manager when it displays a different icon too? it may not be the adapter but just your wifi dropping off
