Hi,

I have just purchased a Corsair HX1000i (from ebuyer.com) and an Asus Z390-F from scan.co.uk, but have 2 issues / concerns with the motherboard:

1. I am unable to get 2 usb keyboards to work at bios time (DasKeyboard and DuckyShine), logitech k200 (old version) works. Is this normal? Also sometimes when at windows login screen, I need to unplug and re-plug the keyboard in to get them to be detected and powered up (to get the lights on, not always when windows is running though)... scan.co.uk, who I purchased it from state that this might be normal behavior for the motherboard (2 days old).... What are your thought on this? I have looked for solutions, setting legacy usb support was already enabled in bios with same result also tried all ports on motherboard to see if my DasKeyboard would be recognised, but nothing has yet but using the old k200 keyboard. All the keyboards work fine on another Asus Z370-A motherboard and a much older MSI Z97 mobo.

2. When I first power on, the AIO coolers fans and all case fans max out, then after about 1 to 2 seconds they power down to expected speeds for about 1 second, then bios starts to start. scan.co.uk are telling me this is fine... What are your thoughts on this?

Motherboard has power issues? Has anyone else got these issues? Found a fix?

I support the logic of your keyboard test: the keyboards work fine in a very similar mainboard but not the new one.The fact the old keyboard works gives you a second potential remedy if you cannot return the z 390 which I think is the next step. The retailer's support for a dysfunctional board is lame. If you cannot return it, try another Logitech. I use them beaucoup.

The intense fan action does not concern me much. I have an ASUS x99 board where the fans are under a speed surge for 4 sec. on boot which freaks out some until they realize that's the way it's meant to work.

Thanks for your input.

RE: Fans
Yes, that did seem quite concerning that the ASUS Z370-A didn't do that being a very similar model and virtually the same bios.

RE: Motherboad USB
scan.co.uk said to me, "that's how it's meant to work"... At which point I thought, "what, I'm not allowed to use a keyboard during bios time...", wtf?

Then throwing some scare tactics at me quoting, "you can RMA the item and we will test it but if it works we will send it back to you"... I'm betting they will just plug a low powered usb keyboard in or a ps2 and it will work and just send it back, in which case I would have wasted 5 to 10 days of my time and postage costs and have to keep the old keyboard around for when I need to use bios.

I think I will fire it up one more time and document / record everything that is of issue and see what they say then...
