its not locked or anything, so you should get 60+ frames no problem. if you still have a problem its probably with settings/drivers, so if you are not tech savvy instal gForce Experience and use settings and drivers it tells you to use.
What’s the rest of the pc spec? There is more to gaming than just a gpu.
Also what resolution is your monitor and what game settings are you using.
if he has GTX 1050 its probably not that old and MW3 is a old game
minimum is
CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 processor or better
CPU SPEED: 2.0 GHZ
RAM: 2 GB
OS: Windows XP
VIDEO CARD: Shader 3.0 or better 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT / ATI® Radeon X1950 or better
PIXEL SHADER: 3.0
VERTEX SHADER: 3.0
SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c or later
FREE DISK SPACE: 16 GB
DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 256 MB
so basically it should run fine even on your phone.
Worth checking the system. Wouldn’t be the first time someone has dropped a gpu into a completely inadequate desktop.
true (saw a 1080ti in core2duo build), but i think its more of a setting/driver issue or maybe the monitor is connected to IGPU and not the GTX (but still the new igpu-s would eat up mw3 but then again). now lets wait for him to answer
