Connect equalizer to a soundbar

Phone --> EQ --> SPKRS. As long as Phone and SB both have analog connectors, just need the proper cables that's all.

If your phone is talking to the SB wirelessly, no way, because the signal goes directly to SB and never "gets out" for you to EQ it. There maybe an EQ app for your phone, have you looked?

Pshhh.... Soundbars, in general, not made for music.

Thanks a lot jsm I did try many apps and bought already the app equalizerFx days ago but probably it has a bug and doesn't work in background. I've asked the developer and waiting for answer, meanwhile I was wondering if a real equalizer could have done the job for me. Thanks again my friend you let me save time and money!

I doubt you will "improve" the sound, that is already a good quality soundbar. I don't know abut the Yamaha sound bars but their audio equipment in the 80s and 90s was very well regarded. You may want to check the quality of the recordings you are playing to get the best audio. I don't think I have seen a comparison of audio quality between the music streaming services in a long time, everyone just focuses on the "features" and how many songs are available, not at what quality they stream the music.

You're right hangthenine about the quality of the streams or the mp3s, and also about the yamaha quality which is superb, nothing to say. Before buyng it I've read many reviews and good comments. The point is that the bar and subwoofer are very powerful especially for the Bass range but very low in tweeters and midrange, so the sound comes out very "deep" in loudness but very poor in high ranges. I've tried with many sound sources including 320bitrate mp3s but see no improvements or differences with spotyfi or youtube. Anyway i'm doing well with the app equalizer i have, hoping they improve it in the future. Many thank again hang9

The sub does not have an adjustment in level? You can also play around with sub placement in the rooms, putting it away from walls, maybe on a carpet, behind something to block it a bit, putting some sound damping tile or blankets around the wall or area where the sub is, those will change how the bass sounds in the room.

Yes hang9 the sub has a level adjustmen from -4 to +4 which I can control by phone as well and I try to ajust it by the type of music I play. And probably as you say I have to move the sub in a better place away from wall or guardrobe. Another good thing I can do is to place a big carpet in the room and put the sub on it on a corner. Good idea!
Anyway if in the future I want to take a cd/dvd player and an equalizer too to play my cds, could i connect both of them to the soundbar? And how? Sb has 2 hdmi and 1 analog sockets. I'm asking because the player should be connected to the tv as well and this make me just more confused. Thanks for helping

I forgot to tell that the room in question is on the attic and probably the shape of the roof as well is making all that reverbering, I have to play definitely with the right placement of the sub. Ciao

You should be able to switch between sources on the soundbar. If you need to use the same input for the TV and the audio equipment you can get a mixer or source switcher. Or sell the soundbar and get a receiver with multiple inputs and normal speakers.

A carpet will help to even out the sound, as would some sort of hanging things along the walls, or maybe in the corners to help smooth things out. You said it's in the attic but you can still play around a bit with the space and maybe acoustic tile or even just tapestry type things.
