Hello,

Title pretty much says it. Having trouble achieving good FPS in games like Gears of war 4 on ultra with custom settings (30-40fps) and fortnite (60 fps) on ultra. I've even scaled down to 720p and still get roughly the same results. Monitor is not 1080p max resolution is 1680x1050 at 60hz.

Solution
Yo will have issues with an os from another pc. A new clean install is recommended, create a win 10 usb installer and format your current os drive and install. It's easy there are alot of tutorials on boobtube

So I've deleted my partitions, made new ones and formatted them. Reinstalled windows and drivers. Just waiting on my game to finish downloading some time today. Any reason in particular using an OS from another computer could effect my gaming performance that greatly?

Just one stick. Built it with used parts. Ram came bundled with cpu and cooler im not currently using. Also, after doing some digging around I managed to find this article.

https://gearsofwar.com/en-us/developerblog/8/gearsofwar4perfguide

8 gigs of ram is sufficient enough for everything but ideal specs. With my 1060 6gb they recommend a i5 4690. It also goes on to explain that my 1% gpu bound stat is an indicator that I'm cpu bound on my frames and my Gpu is out performing my GPU. by a lot apparently. The most I could get out of it was around 20% gpu bound playing with settings. It also says I should be able to pull around 70fps on recommended settings at 1440. Obviously I don't have a 1440 capable monitor or even a 1080p monitor for that matter which would bring me into the minimum specs category at 1080p which I should be getting around 45 fps. I'm getting around 35-40 now with some peaks in the 50s.
