My first computer I built, has never run nearly as good as what it should when gaming. I consistently get low frames and lots of tearing on low settings. The build is a 1080 gtx with 32 gb ram, running os and games on SSD, and have a ASUS x99 II deluxe motherboard. I don't know why it took me so long to ask here. also I have and I7-6800K I consistently run at 70 -90 fps when my friends with lower quality gaming rigs are running 140 plus on higher settings. I have no Idea how to fix this, but i'm pretty sure I've done something wrong. I have done a complete wipe and reinstall of windows 10, tore down and reassembled all my connections, and nothing has seemed to work. IDK if it's something with my bios or what. Please help me.

Solution
What sort of CPUs do your friends have? the 6800K is a pretty capable CPU but unless you've overclocked it the turbo speeds are quite low and it's single thread IPC is down a little also. I've never really looked into the Gaming performance of a 6800K to know what to expect though, that platform never made sense to me for gaming and seemed more productivity focussed.

ram is operating at 2133
yes it was bought as a kit, and i've checked my temps while gaming and they don't seem to be the issue
