I have an Asus M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard, been using 2 2gb sticks of gskill ripjaws ddr3, product no. F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL. always worked great. got some cheap RAM off of someone, 2 A-Data 4gb sticks,ad3u1333c4g9-B.
Replaced them and computer is just black on startup. I've tried both of them alone with just 1 installed, same thing. checked and double checked that they were properly installed. These sticks are not on the QVL for this motherboard but i figured they might just work anyway, dont see why they wouldnt. only difference in the ram's specs is that my old ram was 1600 speed, and my new ram is 1333 speed. Are there some kinda settings in the bios i need to change for that? or anything to change for that matter? Thanks.
