Hi

I just built a new pc based around the Asus Z370P and an I7-8700, I used the stock cooler and every thing was fine. I then changed the cooler to a Corsair H80 which I plugged into the Pump Header. I booted the pc up and it came up with a CPU FAN ERROR, I shut down the pc and realised I had forgot to plug in the H80 Molex connector, attached that booted the pc up I can see everything is working fine but still came up with the error, I have used Aida 64 to stress test and temps not gone over 57 degrees on a 45 minute run, so clearly everything is working fine, the only unusual thing is the CPU fans seem to be running at a constant 2000 rpm where as case fans around 1200 is the bios just remembering the initial incident, if so how can I reset it.

If you plug the 3 pin header to the CPU fan header not the Pump header as the Pump is powered separately via a molex connector...everything should then work fine....

So the fans connect to the pump head and from there a 3 pin cable goes to your main CPU fan hear on the motherboard...

I presume you are talking about the original H80 and not the newer H80i etc...

You can also disable the CPU fan header so that it does not give an error as you can also work it the way you have...
