Should i upgrade my cpu if i keep crashing while trying to game and record 1080p at the same time

I am new to pc gaming, my pc keeps crashing a couple mins after playing cs go while recording.[ wihtout recording it is fine} Also when I try to boot up fortnite it crashes instantly even without recording. fortnite works if I have no apps opened.
here are my specs
processor: intel i7 8700k [I think this is the problem, but not sure]
gpu: evga 1080 ti
motherboard: asus rog maximus xi wifi hero
ram: 16gb corsair vengeance lpx 3000mhz
psu: evga supernova 750 g3 80+ gold
cpu cooling: aio nzxt kraken x62 + 2 corsir rgb fans
ssd: samsung 970 evo 250gb
sshd: seagate firecuda 2tb

please help if you can, would be much appreciated

You have a really good processor for gaming. It is most definitely not the issue unless it is faulty in some way. It sounds more like you are having a driver issue since you can only have certain applications up at a time. Try going into your reliability monitor and see what the crash report says.
