High-End Gaming rig with a budget of $1300-$1350

Hello, everyone.
I recently wanted to update the components of my computer so that I can play the maximum amount of FPS at 1080p, plus I don't want to worry about the specifications of the games in a long time. I only need help to choose the Motherboard, the processor and the video card. So far, I've been thinking about an ASUS Prime x470-Pro, an RTX 2080 and an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x. The budget for this three components varies between $ 1300 to $ 1350 (or less if possible).
Please let me know if there are better options taking into account the budget, or if my decision is correct.

  1. I would get the faster 8 core 9700K and a GTX 1070ti. Save the rest of your money and upgrade the card in about 2 1/2 years. The 1070ti should last at least that lont with a 1080p monitor.

    The processor is much faster till you get past 8 cores that games still cant use.

  3. At 1080P you won't need anything better then a 1080/1070 ti/2070 and for a CPU I'd get the 9600K, at 5ghz+ there is no game it won't be able to run at high FPS. With the RTX series GPU you will be able to use ray tracing and DLSS (when these are used in game).

    RE: CPU/Platform:

    Both Ryzen and Intel will be solid gaming PCs. Intel will have around 10-15% edge in gaming, but not worth the 30-50% price premium IMO.


    RE: GPU

    Don't waste the money on Turing. nVidia want's a hefty price premium for RTX. And not many games support it yet. And those that do have RTX run like garbage when it is enabled. I would go with a 1080 for now. You'll be good for at least 2 years. Wait to see if RTX/ray tracing becomes widely adopted and maybe get a 2nd gen RTX card when it is more mainstream.
