My Motherboard is H18H1-M3SV:1.0, HDD is Toshiba 500GB. It was running fine for a few months, but now it's acting up. My problem is, Bios detects the HDD but could not load Windows, the flashing underscore prompt(idk the name) keeps flashing. I used a Live Windows with ROM, Live Windows could be loaded but the windows could not detect the HDD, nothing is shown with Disk Management also.

When i plugged the HDD on another Computer as a slave drive, everything seems normal. I also used a working HDD from another [strike]CPU[/strike] PC but the problem is still the same. I also tried each four SATA ports to see if anything happened.

I would be thankful if anyone could help me with this issue.

have you checked your boot loader menu? sounds like the bios recognizes the HDD but it's not the 1st choice in your boot loader menu. you say it worked fine a couple months and then this problem..have you tried to see if the HDD is failing? try this link. https://hdd.userbenchmark.com/Software its a secure site too so dont worry about hacking on your HDD. you might have to replace the hard drive. if not try doing a system restore if you can get to that. their are other ways to restore you system. Hope you did a backup or a recovery USB..but cross that bridge if needed.

@LaFaye_58, Thank you for the respond.

Yes i have tried switching each sata port to see some changes, after that changed the boot sequence at the boot loader menu. nothing happened. I also attached a different HDD from a another PC. The bios detects it, but could not load Windows, the flickering underscore keeps flashing. When I put that other HDD back to it's PC, it worked fine and the HDD from the problematic PC works very fine when i attached to another PC. Running the HDD Benchmark tools will test its speed etc., right? But will it solved this particular Problem because the problem is the same with another HDD as well.

the link i gave you will check functionality and yes speed of HDD. now you said you plugged it into another PC and it seems fine (as a Slave drive) but did you try to boot on the other PC as a master drive? if not you might want to try that..Also if you can boot it on the Other PC as master drive and your windows OS loads fine then it's your Motherboard. (usually in this case the motherboard wont even load the bios system. but for some reason you computer is not loading your OS off the HDD. you say it works with Windows Live but it doesnt recognize the HDD. not even in computer management. ( when you put your HDD in the other PC as master check to see if you can find it in the Drive management then) if you still have stuff on the HDD i suggest you put it on a backup. then format the drive do a fresh install of your Windows OS. and then put your stuff back on the HDD put it back in your PC if you still have the same problem..replace motherboard.!
