Is it still true the more drives that are on the buss, the slower the access and read times? E.g., a system with one SATA drive will be faster than the same system with 6 SATA drives.

I may be dating myself, but this was certainly the case a while ago.....which caused the system designer to think about the trade off between system speed and storage.

Thanks for the re-education or re-affirmation.

Years ago, with IDE drives, that may have been the case.
Not with current SATA drives. Each drive talks to the motherboard independently.
