i bought a gamepad (ml-g8026) that is for ps3/pc and my intentions were to use it on pc, so i connected it and tested it on d-input, everything was working fine, but when i transferred it to x-input none of the buttons were working, there is no cd drivers in the box so i can't really update it, i think i'm screwed, but maybe i'm not, so i came looking for help.

Solution
You'll need to install drivers for most joypads to work. If it didn't come with drivers then check on the manufacturers website to see if you can download them.

That's what I had to do for the last joystick I bought.
