Short version:Gaming PC old Motherboard and CPU need to be replaced. Need advice on some parts to replace them with as to not screw things up.

Well I posted here a year ago about upgrading my motherboard/cpu (A MSI 970A-G43 AMD 970 and AMD FX-6300) and finally have the spare money to actually get some upgrades and wanted to take advantage of some of the sales going on or about to go on.

I wanted a bit more advice before going through with anything but I've already picked out a few things. SR-71 Blackbird suggested to me last time to upgrade to a ryzen setup so I figured I would go that route.

(The Video card, cpu cooler, case, and hard drive I already own and have just put them there for compatibility sake.)

New parts

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor

Mother Board: MSI - B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

Power: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 650W

Already own

Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 970 4 GB WINDFORCE 3X Video Card

Case: CFI - Boreallight ATX Full Tower Case

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO (It says on part picker that its not sure if it works with my case, I can confirm already that it does)

Storage: Seagate - FireCuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive

Power: CORSAIR CX Series CX500 500W

Current budget is around 600$ but I can go to around 800$ if needed.

I think the power supply might be a bit overkill as my current system is using around 460W, so I would like to get something a bit bigger than my current CORSAIR CX Series CX500 500W so its not a concern. I'm also not against getting a new case if I have to.

I'm really not that great at making these posts and I've never upgraded my Motherboard before so if I've messed up anything please let me know I'll try my best to fix it and I'll be making sure to respond ASAP to anything.

Thanks for any help!

For me, a Ryzen is still the best thing to go with.
A 2600x and a B450 seems to be a good choice along withh 16gb 3000mhz ram.

Tbh i wouldnt really want to change anything
You can think about getting a Seasonic 550/600 Watt PSU but that is my personal preference since i never had issues with their PSUs.
