Wired headphones cutting out mid-game (front case ports)

Hi everyone, hope you all had a swell Thanksgiving!

I got myself a new PC this week and it's been running great! Except I have this audio issue where my headphones will only playback a few of the sounds while I'm in a game. The audio is normal when I first start, but mid match it will just stop working well.

Headphones (AT-m50) are wired and plugged into case's front audio jack (NZXT H200). Mobo connections seem fine (ASUS rog strix z390-i).

Games where I've encountered this issue: BFV and CoD: Black Ops 4

I've encountered this issue 3 times. Teamspeak was open for 2 of the times and I wouldn't be able to hear buddies chat, and playing audio through my speakers (connected to motherboard audio ports) works fine.

Thanks for reading, and I appreciate all of the help I can get!

if you don't experience the issues with the ports on the back of the motherboard, then it's just the front panel that is bad.
I've experienced this too many times with front panel I/O. It's kind of common.
If plugging directly into the back of the PC is too far for the cable, then I would just recommend getting extension cable.

Ah, that's a bummer. Having 2 audio ports has been the norm for me, one for headphones and one for speakers. I think I'll work around this by getting a wireless pair. Thanks for the help!
