Hi all

So i have bought the parts for my PC and waiting on the parts to arrive: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/FLxhZR

I already have the 1070 which is why its not on there, i am not worried about the cooling on this as it runs well currently.

So the rad is a h150i, 360mm with 3 x 120mm fans. I am planning on having the rad at the front of the case so it can cool the cpu better. This is what I am planning on: https://i.imgur.com/pGWjEt4.png

The 140mm fans on the top are taken from the ones on the front that come with the case. then i would have the 3 rad fans on the very front of the case pulling in the air into the rad and into the case. then the top and rear pushing out.

would you guys recommend i make any changes to this setup?
thanks

First of all, with the configuration in the way you have it drawn out, those radiator fans are NOT in "pull". They are in front of the radiator so they are technically in "push". They have to PUSH through the radiator. And there is nothing wrong with that. If there is room, I like pull better especially if you don't have very high static pressure fans, but push is fine and is a standard configuration.

The rest of your proposed configuration is exactly the way it MUST be. No problem at all that way. That is the only way it COULD be configured correctly.

It is well that you have done it right.

Cheers. I can most definitely put the fans on the other side of the rad. I just thought it would be weird not having fans on the very front of the case - case>rad>fans. Of course i could buy 3 120mm fans for push/pull on the front but i feel like that is excessive. I kinda want to have whatever will be best for dust management of the rad assuming that performance will be pretty much the same, on the front or back of the rad.

Actually, push pull on a radiator or heatsink isn't excessive. It's not going to give you a tremendous difference in temps, but it WILL help some, by removing any dead spots or eddies in the airflow through the radiator/heatsink. Usually to the tune of 1-5°C.

I don't recommend worrying as much about dust suppression (Typical of positive pressure arrangements) as performance (Obtained with negative pressure arrangements). You can blow dust out occasionally. You can't blow out bad cooling performance.

Push vs pull has no effect on the pressure arrangement, so it really doesn't matter in that regard. Push through the radiator is fine, there is no highly compelling reason to have to change that if it is already set up that way.
