Is my PC outdated?

Hi everyone,
I've bought a gaming PC (Asus rog g751jl) around 3 years ago and I've played numerous games that I believe are quite graphically demanding (like GTA V ) with maxed settings without any problems. However when I now try to play more recent games that have lower recommended settings (on steam) I have many lag issues that I can't seem to solve. I have cleaned my fans and all my drivers are up-to-date.

My specs are :
- i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60 Ghz ~3.6Ghz
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M with 2 GB GDDR5
- Intel HM87 Express Chipset

Do I need to change my CPU/GPU or is there any simpler way to get it to run properly newer games?
Thanks in advance.

Solution
it is a laptop, not pc, dude
I don't think you can upgrade gpu, which is the weakest on your laptop.
a new laptop/pc is best bet.
