For the past couple days my CPU, i5 6600k, stopped overclocking and began to fluctuate its values like crazy. The values get so low, 1-2 Ghz, that my computer becomes really slow and sometimes unusable.
Things I have tried:
- Changing Windows power plan to High Performance
- Changing voltage settings in BIOS from auto to a fixed number (I can't, if I assign a specific value the computer doesn't load up and gets stuck in a reboot loop)
- Running a CPU diagnostic check (passed all tests)
- Making sure all fans are working
- Updated BIOS
- Reset CMOS
- Made sure CPU cooler is firmly attatched
- Set specific clock speeds in MSI Command Center (After pressing "Apply" the CPU ignores any values I assign in and continues to fluctuate)
If anyone can offer any advice, it would be much appreciated!
