Okay so I have a record player that goes into an amp right next to my pc. I have been switching from the record player to the pc on the amp, because it makes everything sound better. I got a 1 male, 2 female aux splitter so I can have both the record player and pc plugged into the amp at the same time, but when I have both plugged in the sound gets about halved.

The cable is.

How do I fix this? Is the power going back through the splitter say from my record play to my pc, thus lowering the power level?

Dang how can usb do multi channel splitters super cheap, and these are like 30-50 bucks?

You're comparing apples to oranges. Audio mixers have active precise components - you don't want additional distortion from them on your analogie audio path. USB hubs (if that's what you call "spliter") is a single chip inside cheap plastic, and it is digital - not that many things to screw up.

You can have fun building some ]url=https://www.instructables.com/id/Making-an-Audio-Mixer/]cheap passive mixers[/url] and see how it will work for you and your amp.
