i7 8700k and B360 Motherboard

My friend has a brand new MSI B360 gaming plus collecting dust. Would it be compatible with the i7 8700k and make it run smoothly? I don't plan to overclock. Should I use it or get a z370 or z390 motherboard?

If you don't oc, you can get the b360 for less or maybe for free, why not. They are compatible, but get the lower price i7 8700 cpu instead of the K version, if you don't buy the 8700k yet.

He was willing to give me the B360 if I wanted to use it so I guess I will! I was actually going to buy the i7 8700 non K but they were the same price so I was like might as well buy it right? Thanks for answering the question!
