I was having an issue where my ram wasn’t being read 8gb hard ware reserved ran tests everything came back good I took out the cpu some pins were bent I managed to get them unbent but 2 ones that were next to each other broke does anyone know what these pins were for because now my pc turns on them shuts off. The cpu fits in the mother board fine and the ram is R.I.P. jaws g skill those are also connected fine everything is connected good

First off what are you using for temps? Measure is Celsius not Fahrenheit, nobody uses Fahrenheit makes no sense to anyone here. Secondly To measure temp the only correct way is to use AMD overdrive to measure thermal margin that is your distance to max temp. That is the ONLY WAY to properly measure it. Here is a guide explaining

Now as for your ram problem, the broken pins are the...

Sounds like you have a lot of problems due to this CPU issue. Unfortunately with 2 broken off pins you are up the creek without a paddle. There is no repairing this.

That CPU can be had new on Amazon for $76 for now, its well out of production, but if you want to reuse your equipment thats the best way to go. And be VERY careful with the next one.

I actually removed pins off a old cpu and put on the holes that broke off into the motherboard and it’s been running fine it still reads 8gb Ram 8gb reserved but 16gb installed like my original problem and temps have been low 100s with downloads and internet

Now as for your ram problem, the broken pins are the reason for it. This is a common issue with the 8350. You're lucky it runs. Again, you need a new one. Normally youd bend them back into shape, but in your case with them broken off, you're not fixing that.

I realize you don't use celsius, however every reference to computer temps you will see anywhere (guides, reviews, etc) uses celsius. Speaking to people on this site, you need to read it in celsius. This is literally like you're insisting on speaking chinese to people who speak english.

Anyway follow the guide and measure your temps that way, under load, and report back.

The reason you can't use all 16GB is specifically because of those broken pins.

Yeah I’m using Celsius. Although I’m running around 40-45 Celsius in game but now I’m having crazy low FPS spikes and I’m sure it has to be the cpu because even with 8gb missing I still have another8gb that’s active

Ok whatever that temp you are seeing in Afterburner is wrong.

You need to download AMD overdrive and follow the instructions I linked above. What is your thermal margin?

Sure sounds like youre either overheating or whatever it was you broke on the CPU is permanent.

Just get a new cpu. Broken pins more often than not cant be reliably fixed. Until you get a new cpu just assume any issue youre having is caused by the broken pins.

Like he said, youre lucky its even running at all.

I will get a cpu when I can right now I can’t I have more important priorities. I’m not going to assume anything because I just played different more demanding games for a long period of time with no issues. And I just played for honor with no issues and high frames. It was the controller that was messing it up.

You're reading Themrl Margin in overdrive? because thats just not possible. Your CPU would be ultra cold if it was that under load. Now For Honor is GPU heavy game, not cpu but still I don't believe that.

Try Small FFT in place. It doesn't end it just runs until you stop it. run it for a bit and see if system crashes, monitor temps. Give it some time (10 min or so) to start and see how it goes.

I play For Honor every day, it is a very low CPU usage game. While my CPU is significantly faster than yours it should not stress yours either.

Prime95 is what you need to run.

Home it’ll be running for 4 hours I’ll report back around 7:15pm est
