It's impossible to change my cpu configs

Hi, guys. I never thought i would find a problem the google wont give me the answer, but i think one of you will save my soul.

I can't change my CPU's configs at my bios, don't matter what happens, and it's worst, it's not on default mode, it's overclocked in the worst way ever (70dg idle).

My specs:
Motherboard z97 pro
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97PRO/specifications/
Cpu 4790k
Vga 570 rx

First i thougt it was a bios issue, i removed the bios battery (CMOs), brought it back to default, but it didn't help.

To make clear what i'm passing to, imagine this actions :
1 turn pc on
2 press del
3 pres f5 back to default, ok
Then all the configs of my cpu are back to normal 4.4 of turbo boost.
4 save settings and leave.
5 pc reboot
6 I press del
7 clock is on 4.6 ghz with almost infinity voltage.
8 back to process 3

Belive, if i change everything besides cpu settings they are saved changes on motherboard.

Some hypothesis of mine:
1 is it possible of some oc mode must exist in my Motherboard, that i need ti switch off?
2 some intel driver? Even before initialization?

What are possible solutions for this?
Can I force default somehow?
If not, can i force a manual settings that at least wont be this madness.

I can send prints and everything if you want...

If you can't get into the BIOS, then clearing the CMOSis your best bet. That will be detailed in your motherboard manual.

There is usually either a jumper or button on the motherboard to clear the CMOS. Alternatively, you can also remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard. That is usually a CR 2032 lithium battery. Just remove it and wait a few minutes before putting it back in.

Hey @terr4536, i have already done the both.

Imagine that when i did it and clicked save settings, the motherboard shows what is changing, what ststus are changing. In this moment all the cpu status are showed, since im changing it. But as soon as the pc restarts, if I enter /or even turn on the pc nornally, all the cpu status are changed back again to overclock... If i do some other changes in bios that are not in tbe cpu section, it saves.

One last thing to try, power the system down and unplug the system. Remove the CMOS battery for an hour or two and then reinstall. Then reboot the system. If it didn't help procede to the next step.

If the system is stable otherwise (not crashing or freezing), then update the motherboard to the latest BIOS version.

That will get rid the overclock if at all possible.

The BIOS update can be done within the BIOS or with ASUS EZ Flash 2 . The procedure is detailed in the manual. The manual is linked below. The latest non-beta version is below (or you can try the beta version later).

Version 2702 2015/11/23 5.53 MBytes

Have already tried the bios and waited a good among of time, i have even tried different types of bios.

Today in the morning somehow my pc booted at the default ratios, but now i arrived turned him on and it is one more time back to overclock nosense settings.

I will do it again, who knows..

What makes my problem a kind of mistery is the part that only thr cpu configs keeps changing, the other stuff i can change with no problem.

Hi guys, ill tell u what i did, and what i am doing.

For me the issue is compatibility about windows 10
And the motherboard, but it's really complicated and hard to resolve.

If someone fells upon something like that here are the two advices i am using.

1 clearing CMOs usually get me ONE windows start, if i restart windows things get back to the issue.

2 There is an update of asus, it's the last energy update for the bios. It can control the settings that you turn on your computer, it's kind of a bios changer. You can press load default from him, still not a 100% solution. Sometimes it rolls back, usually when i turn off the role system energy.

Thanks for the help terry, anyway, helped getting my things started.
