Hello, here are the spec of my existing system:
i3 2120 3.3 ghz, Gigabyte H61M-DS2, 2x4GB DDR3 1333 Mhz, 550w Corsair VS PSU and a GTX 1060 6GB graphics card which I recently bought.

As I was experiencing cpu bottleneck and the ram and mobo are working fine, after all consideration, I bought a Xeon E3 1220 processor of eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/132871448366 for $35 (including shipping to India.) However I've realised that Xeon E3 1220 is available in multiple versions. The ones that fit on my board are v1 & v2. Based on the comparison mentioned here: https://ark.intel.com/compare/52269,65734, it says that v1 supports PCI express 2.0 while v2 supports PCI express 3.0 with these config. 1x16 & 1x4, 2x8 & 1x4 or 1x8 & 3x4

Ive dropped an email to seller to confirm which model I have purchased as it wasn't mentioned in the listing.

My question is, How will the PCI express impact my gaming experience and day to day basic tasks.
I've read few posts regarding PCI express however not relating to the processor as my card & mobo both support PCI express 3.0

Thanks again for taking time out and reading, assisting me. This community is awesome!! :)

Best regards,

Solution
The PCI revision is not a significant contribution to your overall performance. A few percent maybe. It depends on too many other factors.

Hey Kanewolf,

I'd checked it on multiple sites like :
https://www.game-debate.com/motherboard/index.php?mot_id=1114&cpuList=Gigabyte%20GA-H61M-DS2
http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/GA-H61M-DS2(rev._2.2).html
https://www.cnet.com/products/gigabyte-ga-h61m-ds2-rev-1-2-motherboard-micro-atx-lga1155-socket-h61-series/specs/

I've also checked multiple forums & with the ebay seller and he confirmed that Xeon E3 1220 will work on my motherboard.

Best regards,

oh ok.. I've checked with the seller and its a Ver 1 Xeon E3 1220 which i've bought. My concern is as per the link below https://ark.intel.com/products/52269/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1220-8M-Cache-3-10-GHz- , this processor supports PCI express 2.0 whereas my motherboard and graphics card have support for pci express 3.0.

Will PCI express 2.0 limit my gaming experience which i would have got with a PCI 3.0 processor ?

Please help...
