Hi,

Actually I am in pretty much of a turmoil here choosing between 2 motherboards for Ryzen 3 2200g. The motherboards are Asus Ex-A320M and Gigabyte A320M S2H. Finding them within almost same price bracket, my points of interest are,

1. What are the major key differences between them except usb guard?
2. Any bios upgrade for Asus needed?
3. Is 2400 mhz 8gb ram enough for them?
4. For 1080p gaming which one will be more subtle?

Stating the fact that I am building my rig for the first time with AMD. So for this instance any suggestion for a more durable motherboard (if there's any) in this price bracket will be much helpful.

Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'd just go for the Asus motherboard because it has 4 RAM slots compared to 2 on the Gigabyte.
Other than that they're pretty much the same in terms of the expansion slots and ports.

Either of them may need a BIOS update for ryzen 2nd generation to work. If the motherboard comes with a "ryzen desktop 2000 ready" sticker then the BIOS should be updated and work with a 2nd gen chip out of the box. If the sticker is missing you should return it to the store from where you bought it for a BIOS update.

Both motherboards support up to 3200 MHz memory, so 2400 will work just fine. I'd recommend getting higher frequency memory because ryzen benefits from it though(3000 MHz, 3200MHz).

Motherboards don't affect gaming performance(you can't...

Motherboards don't affect gaming performance(you can't overclock on the A320 chipset) so there won't be any difference between them in gaming at 1080p.

2400Mhz ram will slow things down quite a bit with the 2200G CPU.. make sure you get 3000+ or around there.. and if you are doing a new system.. if you can afford it get the newer chipset.. though not super important. I have a 2200G CPU in one computer with a asrock A320 chipset and it works great but it has good ram in it.
