Hi guys!

There seems to be a problem with my speakers. The light is on, but there is no sound.

The audio icon in the lower right hand corner has an x next to it, and when I click on it, this pops up.

Clicking "next" always leads to this:

Error code:

Additionally, when I search for sound on the search bar on the left corner, this shows up.

Is there a problem with the computer or the speakers?

Thank you for your time!:D

Solution
Ive received this problem lately and it seems the best fix is to uninstall and reinstall your audio device drivers.

To uninstall a device by using Device Manager, follow these steps:
Start Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Device Manager.
Expand the node for Sound Devices, right-click each the device entry, and click Uninstall one by one.

Once youve uninstalled all your audio devices simply restart your PC and windows should reinstall the device drivers automatically.

Hope this helps.

"Sound, video and game controllers" is what it should say exactly.

Right click on the speaker icon on the bottom right of your screen and "Troubleshoot sound problems" to get a better idea of what the issue is.

Update: hi, so i tested those speakers with multiple computers, and the speakers all worked on those. I also played around with sound drivers, reinstalling them and all that. The speakers themselves for some reason don't actually have their own drivers, i think:

I suspect that it might be a hardware problem. Should i check the motherboard or something?

Ive got tons of computers coming in for a little red x on the taskbar's sound icon, pretty sure its a resent windows update thats causing it.
However the problem is almost always fixed by the steps I stated above.
Have the speakers ever worked? Or did you just get them recently?
Check for windows updates just to be sure.
