[SOLVED] Ssd and ram installation on a rog strix z390e

Looking into building my first gaming pc.i purchased the Rog strix z390e motherboard.the manual isn't real clear on which slot to install my SSD.its the Samsung 970 Evo pcie nvme.iv e heard one slot could be slower than the other and just wanted to pick the correct one.m.2_1 or m.2_2.i know the correct slot for my ram per the manual 2*16 gb ram.newb question is it possible to install these backwards?they look the same both ways.g skillz trident z rgb.3200.i haven't tried to install them yet just looking at it through the package.thanks in advance for your time.

The Asus Z390-E manual (at least the one I have) states:

"M.2_2 socket supports PCIe 3.0 x4 M Key design and type 2242 / 2260 / 2280 / 22110 PCIe storage devices."

"When the M.2_1 (socket 3) is operating i PCIe 3.0 X4 mode, SATA ports 1 and 2 will be disabled."

No SATA port disabling is listed for M.2_2. So isn't M.2_2 the better choice if you want the option to use those SATA ports?
