Hi, i've been going mad over the past week trying to find answers, My current PC build is as follows: 8x2GB DDR3 Crucial RAM, A10 6700K CPU, a GTX 1060 and a 500 watt PSU

My Motherboard is an M11MB and I am currently running Windows 10 (The rest of the motherboard parts are default to the M11BB).

My problem is that my graphics card is too powerful for my CPU to handle, the A10 6700K from my knowledge is the best CPU that my socket (FM2) Can take, i don't have enough to afford a whole new motherboard. Is there any way of converting or replacing my FM2 Socket type to replace it with one compatible with say a Ryzen 7 2700K or some sort of i9 or i7 that would not require me to get a whole new motherboard?

Thank you in Advance,

Even if you could swap the socket, Ryzen also requires DDR4 so you'd need to change the DIMM slots and your RAM.

If you want to upgrade to a modern CPU architecture, you will need a new CPU+MoBo+RAM.

I first I thought the Ops was talking about the Intel 6700K. Nope AMD A10..... Anyways as others have said you need a whole new system. Only thing you can keep is the case and power supply (if its a good brand). I did a HTPC build with a AMD Ryzen 2200 $325 for the whole computer. Its a little Ryzen-Vega Hybrid beast. However I suggest you build around a Ryzen 5 2600X. Good amount of power for the low price.
