i have a dell inspiron 660 i3-3240(pre built) with a new 600 watt psu and gtx 760. i want to upgrade the cpu but i don't know whats the best one to get, without having to update my bios or anything crazy. lga1155 is the motherboard. i plan on streaming more high end games in the future.

You're on the 3rd gen processor from Intel.Right now, taxing your system with current gen games will demand more from the system. If you add streaming to the list of tasks, you will have unfavorable results(when streaming and gaming at the same time). According to this PDF, you're limited to 3rd Gen processors as the top most series. I would suggest getting an i7-3770K but you're going to have to do a BIOS update but that wont be a significant upgrade with what you plan on doing.

You should also list the sort of games you play at the moment and plan to play in the future. Also list the tasks you do(please don't include etc in that sentence) so as to understand what you actually need.

I have a thermaltake SMART 600 watt psu, the games i play now are street fighter V, fortnite, overwatch, starcraft 2, project cars 2. i plan on getting tekken 7, black ops 4, last of us 2, god of war 4. The task i do are, interent browsing, video games, streaming, discord, a little bit of video editing.
