Water block mounting on 9900K

The mounting hardware I have with the EK Evo nickel water block has me confused.

There are two 4 piece sets of mounting screws in the packet. One set is called 'M4 mounting studs' and is for an LGA2011 CPU, and the other set is called 'M4 threaded thumb screws' which are for the LGA 1151 (what I have).... BUT, it doesn't tell you which is for what CPU... Both sets look much alike, but one set of screws is larger/longer than the other, but they both fit through the 4 holes in the motherboard. So, I don't know which set of screws to use....

HELP, please...

System build...
Asus Hero XI MB | 9900K | EK CPU loop | EVGA 2080ti FTW3 | Phanteks Evolv X

Mind sharing a link to your block? I have the EKWB Supremacy Evo Red Harbinger Edition and the screws for the LGA 115x platform will require you to use the backplate(with the rubber/silicone gasket sandwiched between the backplate and the motherboard's PCB). The LGA2011 screw thread into the socket screw points on the board itself, i.e X79/X99 platforms.

Oh, and I'm an idiot/noob... I mounted the MB in my case and connected cables, etc, thinking I could mount the EK block to the 9900K and thru MB to gasket/backplate.... Just shoot me now.

EDIT.... I just got the block gasket/backplate mounted w/ the correct screws (were the bigger ones) with MB in the case!!! (I have LONG arms!)... Now have to attach the EK block to screws.... News at 11...

Block now attached to CPU. Progress, incredible for me, in my noob'ish-ness.

The remaining issue is trying to get my EK pump/res mounted to the case... somewhat tight quarters. Either prob will mount to one of the front 140mm fans, or drill some holes and mount on back wall of case to right of the MB...

Hey rubix.... my chief cook & bottle-washer!! You is 'da man!

Yes, I post on many tech forums...Here, AnandTech, HardOp, as well as at Asus/Phanteks/EVGA...I don't discriminate, I torture everyone!

Playing w/ Dropbox, trying to get my photos onto my computer.

EDIT.... Wow, connected phone to comp, ipso/presto, DropBox grabbed all the new photos. So I have to figure out permissions so you can see the pics...

Not sure how Dropbox will work, but should be able to right click and allow viewing of an image. As long as you get the ability to create a copy/paste to the link of the image file, you should be able to post it using straight brackets and open/close img tags

Example:
1dsVtGl.png

If I attempt to pose them correctly, the forum will hide the code...otherwise you can use the full edit/reply function and it can put the tags in for you.

I use IMGUR.com for my online image hosting, but there are several out there. I would avoid Photobucket (used to use them) but they have moved to a very expensive pay model.

I see. I admit it's been awhile since posting pics myself on here. Used to use photobucket, but just read about the pay model. No way I'd pay for that. Perhaps imgur as Rubix_1011 mentioned. Seen that before. Watercooling builds are always great to see, air cooled as well. It's a great community here. Plenty of helpful folks and knowledge to go around. Been posting here about 4 yrs now.

On a side note, got new parts myself waiting in boxes for upgrade. The GPU waterblock(Heatkiller IV for 2080 Ti) and backplate are still on backorder. Hope to get soon. :)

If you click the link in IMGUR, it will have a set of links you can copy from to embed. You'll want the ones that only have the IMG tags with the square brackets ( [ ).

You can paste them directly into the text and it will link to your image.

About to put distilled water into the loop & turn it on for leak-testing.... Then drain that out and put in the EK 900mL premix (blood red)...

PLEASE, NO LEAKS.................... I'M NERVOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Thanks... Maybe I can figure out by then how to get images into a post here. (sheesh...)

Oh, and how come I can't have a profile image for my posts? Not enough participation yet?

Ok. I switched to a 90 degree rotating fitting for the 'out' from the pump/res to the 'in' on the radiator. (was the longest run of tubing, I actually made it about @ 4" or so too long and would have been up against the side glass panel... not cool), so shortened tube and changed fitting there.

Then the scary stuff... took distilled water, into squeeze bottle, and began putting into res, fill up, power on, off, fill up, etc, etc...about 85% full and it's been running for about 40 minutes now..... NO LEAKS SO FAR!!! OMG, I didn't screw it up...amazing. The top of res is off. There are very small bubbles in res up against the walls... having supper now. Will check it in a while...

Nice. Thanks for the updates. Sounds good so far. I'd leave on for a few hours or so since it's an entirely new loop to verify no leaks. Sounding good so far. You would have caught anything major by now, but still want to be safe in case there is a slow leak. To much expensive hardware there not to be a thorough check. I keep some lint-free blue towels around or underneath fitting connects when leak testing so any kind of a drip would be easily seen.

Yes, I have tons of paper towels near/below all fittings. I shut it off just now. I'll resume leak-test tomm morning early and run it thru the afternoon while I'm watching the football. (home all day tomm)

Then, I'll drain the water out and put in the EK CryoFuel premix (900 mL or so)... that should do it, as it's only a CPU loop.
