Officially no, but there are apparently methods to make them work together. I've not tried them and from what I've read, they don't seem particularly easy.

What's wrong with that? There isn't much point in sticking with Windows 7 unless you need software or driver compatibility.

Asus has W7 drivers for their MBs and W7 works fine on 1st gen Ryzen but not with 2nd gen. Problem with installation is drivers for USB which have to be installed into ISO or USB ports, including keyboards and mice doesn't work. Could be bypassed by using PS/2 KB and mouse. Also would need drivers for M.2 SSDs if you want to install on one of those.
MSI has a BIOS for one of their MBs to install W7 directly.
