Nah, 8 is fine in the vast majority of titles. If he's getting over 100FPS before the drops then it's probably pretty light, as well.

Vast majority of titles from 3 years ago. I'm sorry friend. Just look at the specs for nearly every AAA games coming out. For most 16gb is recommended (as opposed to min requirements), and there's a reason for that. Once you turn up the graphics and textures the amount of data to load increases, and more ram is needed. I'm happy to illustrate with a screen shot. Games like BF1/BF V/COD WW2/COD BO4 among many others, all use upward of 8gbs at 1080p. It's just gonna keep going like that. 8gbs used to be the sweet spot. The sweet spot is now 16gb.

To the OP, you can set up MSI afterbuner, to monitor both system ram usage and GPU vram usage. DO that. Then you can judge yourself if your games are maxing out the ram.

did u just update ur GPU driver?
for all you guys dont update the GPU drivers to 417.22 its so bad. it causes FPS drops and a 99% GPU usage. i faced fps drops in all games after updating to 417.22, then i downgraded to the older version now it works fine as it used to be.
