Girlfriend has a laptop that has a 7700HQ in it, and we've been playing Ark quite a bit. Today, she's randomly started having issues where the game kept freezing. I figured it was just the game, but I'm not so sure that's the case anymore. I downloaded GPU-Z and I see that the CPU temperature is at 90C. Should I be worried?

Yeah that laptop is known for overheating. Unless you can buy one of those cooling pads for your laptop to sit on while gaming, I would suggest turning off your turbo boost. This will generally reduce the graphic quality in games as your CPU will start to bottleneck that 1070 but at least your thermals will go down.

I've also seen online that some people fixed this issue by doing a factory reset and by not updating the graphics drivers to the latest version.

Sucks for a laptop that's supposed to be a beast.

It's an HP Omen with a 1070. It's about a year or so old, I don't remember there being a specific model besides an HP Omen.

Really sorry that I never saw another reply to this. We decided to send it in as the battery also just stopped taking a charge. Thank you for the replies!
