Hi guys,

I am contemplating a new PC build but wanted to know what you guys thought. What parts do you think are holding me back the most right now? Can I get away with recycling my GPU on a new build or do you think that should be upgraded as well? And lastly, how much of a performance in gaming do you think I would notice on average by getting a current gen CPU (I realize it also depends on the game).

Current Specs: Aorus GTX 1060 6GB, 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ram, 600W Corsair Bronze + PSU, i5-3570k (currently not overclocked), ASrock Z77 Mobo

Approximate Purchase Date: Next 3-6 months

Budget Range: $ 800-1200 USD

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: Everything, unless you guys think I can get away with recycling some parts.

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon, Newegg, Tigerdirect

Location: Southern CA, USA

Parts Preferences: Intel / Nvidia

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Don't need anything flashy, just want to be able to run games on High settings again.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Games starting to feel sluggish, needing to turn down graphics.

Thanks!

You could definitely reuse your current fans and storage options.

AS for your CPU, right now it's bottle-necking your GPU a little bit. So what you could do is to keep your current GPU. Upgrade the rest. And see how that goes. If your graphics/FPS are still too low for your liking; you can always just pop it out and then put a new one in.

My GTX 10606Gb is still serving me quite well and I can still play most games at high graphics.
