I'll wait and see how things actually perform.

BUT, I'm surprised they didn't look to push out an 8c/16t at 5.1-5.2GHz boost for, say $250-$300 or so.
Looks like it could be doable at ~105W TDPs, and would go head-to-head with Intel.

They're knocking it out of the park, but pushing cores to 12/24 or 16/32 is pushing cores/threads just because they can.
The vast majority of consumers don't need/want to spend $500 for 5GHz clocks....... drop the core count to something more 'mainstream'
Rival a 9900K on cores/threads and clock speed, and force Intel to do something substantial.

True competition, that's what I want to see.

i am honestly curious as to how intel will handle this as competition.

12(24) cores at 4ghz up to 5ghz for a mere $330. extremely tempting if it has solid singlecore and multicore performance.


and its in budget of practically any consumer.
