I recently assembled my PC and it worked well but for the past few days I have some trouble shutting down or putting it in a sleep mode. The PC doesn't turn off after shutting down nor sleep after commanding it to do so. The PC keeps running forever or till I manually turn it off by pressing the power button. At the same time the monitor stops receiving the signal. I'm not sure what is causing this. Anybody help ?

i did bug around in BIOS and other tools from MSI and NVIDIA. And I have also installed AMD StoreMI.

Mind sharing your specs like so:

Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard? You could look into the power profiles in your settings(assuming you're on Windows) and see if the system is set to never sleep.

Also you can look through BIOS to see what your sleep states are.

Lutfij, Thank you for your response. Yesterday I browsed internet regarding this and I suspected problem should be from Power settings as you have mentioned.

Latest Windows 10 already has Fast Startup "enabled" for faster boot up. But it seems to cause more problems than it solves. IDK. But I "disabled" it and saved the changes. So far, my PC completely turns off and boot speed is still good as I have SSD and HDD powered by AMD StoreMI. And probably Windows Fast Startup doesn't support StoreMI.

As a matter of concern,

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600

Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk

Ram: 8GB DDR4 Vengeance 3000 Mhz

SSD/HDD: 120 GB SATA WD / 1 TB WD

GPU: MSI GTX 1060 3GB (Should have gone for 6 GB but I was aiming for compact budget complete build, and I was thinking getting better GPU later from savings. All components are costlier in India than elsewhere.)

PSU: Corsair CX 550

Chassis: Corsair Spec 01

OS: Windows 10 Pro
