[SOLVED] i7-4770k GTX 1070 which should I upgrade first?

The CPU is getting pretty old and running at almost max playing Battlefield 5, the GPU is struggling to run new titles on my 1440 monitor without all the settings on low. I can't afford to upgrade them both at the same time so which should I do first? Do I tolerate the CPU bottle-necking an RTX 2070 for a while, or grade up the CPU to something like the i7-9700k first. I'm guessing that despite the bottleneck, I'll get better short term performance increase from a GPU upgrade. Is that correct? Thanks

I think you are probably thinking the right way.

I think your system is actually pretty well matched which makes upgrading more tricky.

I think there might be a little more CPU overhead for a faster GPU....but not much more room.

...but I'd probably agree that the upgrade of the GPU will get you more at present than a CPU upgrade as far as gaming.
