Hey Guys,

I'm building a PC for my boss at work, and I've tried the troubleshooting on several different websites but I think i've found the issue and would like a second opinion before bringing it to his attention.

The Motherboard is a ASRock Z270 Pro4 and in a rush he didn't buy my recommended RAM and went with the Corsair Vengeance LED CMU32GX4M2C3000C15B (Because of the black friday cyber monday sales.)

My fear is that these are not compatible, however when booting the RAM does display the LED's working.

Regards,

Zane

EDIT: As it turns out, the boss also changed the CPU and PCPartPicker says that with the i5 9600K:
– Some Intel Z370 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

Advice on how to proceed?

Solution
A Z270 supports 6xxx and 7xxx CPUs. So a 9xxx CPU won't work. Even Z370 motherboards have the BIOS caveat that you listed. You have a CPU and motherboard that are incompatible. You have to change one or both.
