Hello and thanks for reading/willing to help!

So since recently I started playing games like ARK and Arma 3 and I know they ask quite a bit of the pc, but I run it at a high 40/low 50 fps on average. I not too long ago upgraded to a MSI MAG24CX or something like that, a curved 144hz monitor (24") to go along with my other curved monitor(not 144hz). I bought this extra monitor mostly for CSGO but I am not seeing much of an improvement sadly. Now I want to get average FPS on most games, with open world games in mind mostly (like ARK or ARMA 3), but with my current setup I am not getting anywhere close to that... My specs are listed below, hope someone could tell me an order I could follow with upgrading and some suggestions that would be appropriate without overheating/destroying it. My pc is not the highest of tiers, but I am quite happy since I build it myself with help from some people online. Budget is not the biggest of deals, but somthing like a 2080ti is out of range sadly. Thanks in advance.

Specs;
Intel Core i5 7600K | Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3i
MSI H110M Eco (MS-7994)
16GB DDR4 (Dual Channel 2x8) RAM 2400MHz I think
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (really sad I didn't get the 6gb..)
Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134)
Power Supply is a Corsair CS750M 750W (80 Plus Gold) • semi-modulair
If there is any information missing, please let me know and I'll be sure to provide the information.

Try lowering you graphics setting and resolution down really low as a test, if the fps jumps up then the graphics card is your issue, you could also use MSI afterburner to overlay the GPU & CPU load while gaming to see if one of them is at or near 100% and the other is significantly lower.

My suspicion is the graphics card is the bottleneck, as long as you don't try to run a bunch of other software at the same time a 7600K should still be good enough for decent framerates in modern games.

I am not very familiar with Intel processors but for games like ark where the map is prebuilt unlike games such as Minecraft, it won't need to work on map generation on top of other processes, and either way, it seems that your processor is quite quick. Even then, your processor could handle map gen without FPS sacrifice. If anything I would personally replace my GPU. I use an EVGA GTX 1070FTW and for a second-hand product, I am very impressed. Maybe that is the way to go? It comes down to what is best for each individual user, so you might find that a card that is good for me is different than a one that is good for you.
