I just updated the bios on my asus h110m-k. Everything looked fine except when i went into steam all the games were deleted. I checked the steam library folder to see if they are still there but now showing and they are simply missing.. and not just steam games.. some picture folders and other stuff has been deleted. Any ideas if this could have been caused by the bios or is the sign of a failing hdd?

I only have the built in windows defender thingy and that did not find anything.

You need to use multiple titles as a single one WILL miss things that others will find. Ideally you do this by removing the drive and scanning on a known clean machine/s (use a USB adapter) as viruses/malware can, and will, hide themselves from scans when the OS on the drive is active.

I have scanned the drive with multiple tools and it found 2 trojan files and now they "should" be removed according to mwbytes. however im still going to completely wipe it off because i have lost most of the games on it and the files were not that important just to be sure
