With Christmas coming up I'm looking for upgrades to my set up. I don't have a whole lot to spend but I'm hoping to buy an upgrade for my Cpu and my motherboard. My current set up:

i5-3570K
Asus PZ77
Gtx 1060 6gb
8gb Ram
Cx 500 PSU
Hyper 212 Evo

So I've only got around £300 but I've seen some decent CPUs and Mobos on eBay for that much.
I primarily play video games, such as CS: GO, Siege, BO4 etc. and I'm contempt with the performance but with a 144hz monitor I feel like I could definitely benefit from more CPU power.

If anyone has any suggestion for CPUs and/or motherboards that work with my other components, I'd be grateful.

Solution
Something like the list for the whole PC:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor (£145.99 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: ASRock - B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (£62.39 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£116.27 @ More Computers)
Total: £324.65
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Or buy the used i7 3770K for less, keep in mind both ryzen 5 2600 and the i7 7700K have similar performances in games. So just like ryzen5 2600= i7 7700k>i7 37700K.

Thanks for the reply. ( Sorry It took so long for me to reply. ( pretty busy )
I've got some questions and I'm wondering if you could provide some answers.

To upgrade from the i5 3570k to the ryzen 2600 all I have to do is purchase a new compatible motherboard + ddr4 Ram and everything will work fine?
Is the Cpu capable of overclocking?
Will I need a bios update or something?

I know these questions could be google searched but If you could answer I'd be grateful, Thanks

If the parts are not DOA, and they will work.

And yes, you can oc the ryzen 2600, they oced the cpu to 4.2ghz in the review. For the BIOS, if you use B450 you don't need to update the BIOS, just use it out of the box.

For the b3xx AM4 MB, you may or may not need to update the BIOS, even you want to update the BIOS to let B3xx to support the newer cpu, you can get the cpu from AMD. Info: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
