[SOLVED] I9 9900k Running hot on H110i 280mm?

Hello.

Recently i got my i9 9900k and im using my H110i 280mm to cool it and it hits temps which i am unsure about i know the CPU is a hot mess but is there a way to fix it at all. sometimes when i open CPU intense programs or move a window in windows it spikes to 40 - 50c and drops down again what can i do or am i gonna go for a 360mm H150i Pro to cool it? - Temps and specs - https://imgur.com/a/SO3ap91

just went back and re-read your original post -
i'd check your thermal paste application ie, pull the heatsink , clean with 90% isopropyl alcohol both the heatsink and the CPU's IHS and re-apply. Before re-applying, take a look at this comparison puget sound did using a piece of Acrylic for the heatsink to see what happens with different applications methods, ie pea, rice, lines etc

if that was your first seating of the heatsink, you probably used the thermal...

if that was your first seating of the heatsink, you probably used the thermal paste that was pre-applied by Corsair

you might try a better heat paste like Thermal Grizzly's Kryonaut - do not go for the liquid metal pastes.

it is a aftermarket Paste tho thats the thing Artic MX-2

Sound like a wrong thermal application to me. Try going for a quality paste like the Arctic Silver 5, and make sure to not lift the block when screwing it down since that breaks the seal and the paste's effect is useless
