How will the gtx 970 pair with that motherboard ? Or is the mobi too small and will an i3-6100 bottleneck?

Motherboards dont limit the fit of the GPU every PCIE x16 slot is backwards compatible so you can plug a RTX2080Ti on a mobo from 2005 that has a x16 slot. It will fit fine. The i3-6100 is a 2 core 4 thread processor if im not mistaken but you shouldn't see much of a bottleneck maybe like 5-10%.
